So It Looks Like I Have a Few More Years….
While this blog may not show it, I apparently have about 62 more years ahead of me.
Man TANs are Hot! [No Homo]
One of my favorite blogs here on blogspot: The Assimilated Negro, has done it again. The last four posts have been golden. If you don't know, now you know!

Stay Fresh like John
Wow, now I'm more of a closet 3-6 (or however you want to abbreviate it) but, this video is kinda hot. I'm loving the whole John Malkovich theme. Is it pimp or what when the little asian girl thugs out with the shades. I want one...
EDIT: Apparently, the original video no longer works so here's a link that does -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuTLpOL2l28
To Bob Ross With Love
I just realized I haven't posted much lately but unfortunately I don't have anything lengthy right now.
I think it's an important point that Bob Ross was infact a really awesome guy. Yeah, that's it -- Bob Ross is awesome.

Amazon says: Fuck the French Gov’t, I’m Rich Bitch!
Okay, so they didn't quite go that far but essentially an Amazon just proved our country made have credit issues but we're still bad mother--shut your mouth. Essentially, the government has ruled that Amazon's free shipping policy breaks an old "now stupid but then very relevant" law concerning offering discounts on books. Therefore they must stop, or they're supposed to. Amazon has decided to pay the $1500(ish) fine per day instead of discontinuing their free shipping service. Now ask yourself, when was the last time you said no the government and decided to just pay them off.

Macross Frontier Fighting Scene
So I'm sure no one truly understands just how much of a SDF Macross fan I am but lets cut the story short and just say - it is, by far, my favorite series of all time. Not favorite anime, not favorite cartoon, not even favorite video media. When I say series, I mean it.
Second place is probably the Dragonlance Trilogy because Raistlin and Tanis = too much awesome in one party.
Suffice to say when I found out Macross Zero was released I was overwhelmed with joy and enjoyed every episode. However, it lacked that Macross awesomeness.
The second season of SDF Macross (the one about the stupid baby all grown up) sucked. I'm not going to be nice, it was pretty much bad. And so, when I talk about SDF Macross we are solely speaking on the tales of Rick Hunter and the awesome Skull Squadron.
Back to the big point. Macross Frontier nails everything I loved about Macross. It starts with a backstory that is quick to show the series direction. It flashes us some Zentradi and Rick Hunter to let us know they are tired of yanking our chain with the shitty stuff and going back to what made them millions. The tie in the music and the combat and fill the last half of the episode with nothing but love for the Valkyrie and the Armored Valkyrie mode (NERD NOTE: which apparantly now does Gerwalk).
I have to admit, the show is coming off VERY predictable and reusing old content but I must say I'm still happy. April 2008 can't come soon enough (NERD NOTE: second episode doesn't air till then).
Fantanas Can’t Touch DJ-Sensei!
I thought Fanta had some nice commericials on our end but these Japanese commericials are awesome.
I will admit though, you may need to "appreciate" some of Japanese culture to find some of them funny.
Enjoy this while you continue to wait for another semi-serious addition.
Nokia in Time
A new past time of mine is reading the New York Times. Not going to www.nytimes.com but actually waking up early in the morning, heading down to the dining hall, and grabbing a hard copy of the the paper.
Last year, through a student readership program, UMBC used to get The Washington Post, NY Times, The Sun, and USA Today. Due to Budget cuts we now get a limited amount of the Times, an modest amount of the Sun, and a crap load of USA Today. That's right, no Washington Post.
This year, I don't have the nation's greatest paper to read anymore so I've found myself falling on to the Times after a brief stint with USA Today. The New York Times has been good to me. The business section is informative, in many cases better than the Post. However, today it failed me.
First business page I got a treat: Nokia Does a Map Deal, Signaling Strategic Bet
Anyone who knows me, knows my position on mobile phones. Motorola sucked before the RAZR and now they suck hard. Nokia is god of everything cellular. That sums things up pretty nicely. So when I saw there was a front page article on one of my choice companies, I got a little happy.
Needless to say, they let me down. This new acquisition of Navteq isn't news. It's not signaling anything. This is the logical progression of the true signal of their future plans. Nokia made the move into serious GPS service with the beta launch of Smart2Go and the acquisition of gate5. Anyone who has tried the Nokia Maps application knows their phone just became three times as awesome.
Also, the Times makes the point that this move shows Nokia is trying to move away from low-margin unit production and into high-margin services. Yes, they are trying to shift their business model. Again, this isn't the sign. The promotion of their new handset the N81 was the sign. Upon announcing the N81, Nokia talked about it's plans for a online music service and the handheld's ability to play games (if not explicitly stated, definitely implied due to the inclusion of dedicated music and gaming keys). IIRC, I first read about it in the Times - which would go to show that the information passes through the office but someone isn't connecting the dots.
I don't see how the author of this article can push the idea of Navteq being the sign when they had all these notices beforehand.
It's a shame my first real post to the blog is not much more than a rant but - it's something. A quick search of my room reveals that I've lost articles I meant to write my thoughts on. Hopefully, I will find more material to post about soon.
Don’t Call It A Comeback
I've finally found some things I want to write about that I can do easily and quickly. A few things are in the pipeline now. I always want to throw on some simple reflection post about my life. However, they end up being boring and dripping with narcissism. Continue patiently waiting, the posts are coming. If I find some time I might even get to post something interesting today.
