Status Check: OK
I do this every now and again, just feeding a little status update. The highlights:
- Camera
- Money
- Site Updates
- Time Management
Well, if you've been checking my twitter (viewable on the right side of the blog), you would know I have a camera now. I played with it a little last night and I'm pleased with it. I'm really glad I bought a 16GB memory card because HD video can easily take 1GB of space. So basically, I can take a lot of pictures or about 14 video clips.
Now that I have a camera, I'm not entirely sure what I should take pictures of. I'll start with some photos of Yeongcheon and the obligatory apartment look. Let me know what you want to see.
I've also decided to renovate the site a little bit. I'm looking in to options for a proper content management system (CMS). While I am interested in Movable Type, I'm not a fan of CGI these days. Drupal is appealing but may be too powerful. ExpressionEngine is one I just heard about but it's not free so I'm not interested.
Why go through all this when I have a blog that works? Well, WordPress only allows one blog stream. There are supposedly ways to hack your way in to category pages allowing you to fake multiple blogs but I'm not a big fan of hacks. I also don't want to install 2 copies of WordPress.
We'll see what happens, as usual don't expect any changes.
I said I'd be staying in more in order to save money but I've only been going out more. In fact, I'm going out tonight. While I said, I'd try to save money I've been spending a solid amount. It's usually on food (snacks and what not) but sometimes it's random stuff. Oh well, as long as I'm sending back more than enough to cover the bills I guess it's all right.
Also a problem, I don't have time to do anything. That's a lie. It's because I spend what little free time I manage playing NBA 2K11 that I have no time to do the productive items. So you can blame 2K Sports and my friend back home that the blog has had any meaningful updates. Yeah and when I'm not working on 2K, I'm playing FFXIV so there's very little hope for things to get done. I need to organize my time. Maybe I should buy a large whiteboard...
Looking ahead, things appear to be pretty good. I'm never bored and I seem to be fighting off the massive cold wave that's passing through Korea. Also, I'm reconsidering Thailand but the prospects don't look promising. I've cut down the intial 1.5 million won to 1 million but that's still two months of saving. As of right now, I'd rather take a huge bite out of my debt and hole up for the winter playing video games and you know...productive stuff...
As always, more to come. Stay tuned and don't expect much.

WordPress integrated WordPress MU as of version 3.0. This allows you to create multiple blogs on one installation.

Creating multiple blogs using categories is easier than you think and it’s not as hacky as you probably think. (in fact, wordpress encourages this sort of customization) The quality of the result depends on how separate you really want them.

Thanks for this, I’ll get right on splitting the blog posts using WordPress. That actually works great because I really feel comfortable with the WordPress UI and features. PK always coming through.
