That Was (Not) Easy.
I finally have DVD playback working in Ubuntu 8.04. Apparently, the software used to decrypt DVDs wasn't actually built for my processor (64-bit) so I had to build it myself. And when you do the auto-install it conveniently forgets to tell you that "By the way, DVD reading is working but it's all garbage because we failed hard and didn't make a 64-bit build for the 64-bit OS."
With that said, I honestly think that Ubuntu 8.04 is ready for the public, as long as your installing the regular 32-bit version and not the 64-bit version. It seems everywhere I turn I run in to 64-bit woes. My next obstacle is getting Opera to work nicely.
